What’s the Deal With “V” and its critics

Posted by andytw710 on November 25, 2009

V - "It's Only the Beginning" -- Erica works with newly-formed allies to uncover a biological threat they suspect the Visitors have been plotting. Aboard the Mothership, Anna meets with a special guest while managing the investigation into the murder of a V. And Chad does a segment on the V Healing Centers, demonstrating their amazing medical abilities, but then finds himself conflicted by some of his findings, on the riveting cliffhanger of "V," TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET), on ABC. (ABC/SERGEI BACHLAKOV)ELIZABETH MITCHELLI will write more about V in my State of TV article, but with the mid-season finale airing last night I had a couple thoughts on the show and the press it was getting. It all started off great. The first episode was well put together (I think I even watched it three times) and the show got over 14 million viewers (not an easy feat for a new show in today’s tv landscape). It wasn’t universally praised but a lot of TV critics really liked it.

Fast forward to today. It seems the show isn’t so favorable anymore, which I don’t understand. The Live Feed has been saying that it is hemorrhaging viewing (it has lost a bit) and might be canceled and Entertainment Weekly wrote up a small article yesterday trying to compare the show to some football team and basically saying that the show was pretty abysmal.

Lets look at some of the facts…shall we. 14 Million viewers for a season premiere of a new show with no lead in is pretty fantastic. It is no surprise to me that they dropped off after that, a show always drops off in viewers after the premiere. Since then it had ten million viewers and then down to nine million viewers and held tight last night along with the confirmation from ABC itself that the show is coming back in March.

Lets take a look at critical darling Glee for a second. Now I watch Glee but I think like Twilight it gets a bit more hype then it deserves. It premiered with 9.6 million viewers after a little show called American Idol.  As of last week it had 7.4 million viewers. Granted a 5 million drop is a bit more than a 2 million drop but I find it interesting that rumors were going around that the show might be canceled. Any show that can get 9 million viewers against CBS’s NCIS is certainly doing something right.

Maybe EW didn’t realize that V was a remake of the 1983 mini-series but thought V stood for Vampire. That article comparing it to the Trojans and how it doesn’t have any hope is a joke. The pilot was fantastic as was the third episode that revealed plenty of things including the reveal that Lisa was the daughter of V leader Anna. Maybe this just isn’t the cup of tea for Jeff Jensen who also says how much he dislikes the show in his recap last night.

I’m not saying that the show doesn’t have its problems, it does. Nobody cares about Tyler and the tension they had in the first two episodes kind of disappeared but I think the show has a lot of potential. They should have ended last night with a better cliff hanger but it was pretty chilling to see all of those V ships sitting hundreds and thousands of miles away ready to invade.

I’m saying that the show is okay and it has some work to do, but it isn’t about to die like I feel many people want it to.

Random Thoughts: TV Season So Far Edition

Posted by andytw710 on October 28, 2009

http://scifiwire.com/assets_c/2009/06/Flash_Forward_cast-thumb-550x351-19390.jpg-I’ve been pleasantly surprised on all fronts. It has been a very strong season so far. All of the new shows that I decided to watch this year have been picked up for a full season and a lot of the shows that have struggled these past few years have come back with some great stories and new plots that are intriguing and well done. Not everything is perfect but I have been very excited about almost everything. I think this is the first time in a while where I am watching my tivo more than I am watching my DVDs and that usually doesn’t happen. Usually I am watching something on DVD and I get really far behind on my Now Playing list on tivo.

-Not everything is great though. I’ve decided to drop FlashForward. I gave it the benefit of the doubt after the second and third episode didn’t draw me in but after these last two I’ve decided I just can’t take anymore. The acting is awful, the plot is awful, and the show tries to be clever but something makes it so cheesy. It is really disappointing. This was one of my favorites way back during Upfronts cause the plot was great it just seems though that they didn’t know where to go from the beginning. I know it is picked up for a whole season but I could see this easily not being renewed. The most disappointing is Sonya Walger (Penny from Lost) who I really liked. She just isn’t bringing anything to the table and is actually really forgettable and I hate seeing her flashforward 12 times an episode.

-I’m not sure yet about Glee. I was ready to write it off after Acafellas. I think it has a pacing issue and my biggest problem is that the characters do not seem to evolve. Yes the plot moves forwards and the characters are put in different situations but by the end of every episode I feel like we are back right where we started. The fourth episode “Preggers” was probably the best episode and kept me coming back. The show was firing on all fronts with all of the plots intertwining with the real and fake pregnancies. However I slowly started to see the problems again especially in the weak and cheesy “Mash-Up” episode from last week. All of the lines were horrible and I actually felt embarrassed for a couple of the actors. As long as we get some good Jane Lynch quotes each week I am fine but this show is teetering between great and horrible.

-The Office, Desperate Housewives, and Parks and Recreation have all found some new creative energy over the summer. The Office has had some excellent episodes especially Niagra and The Lover. Desperate Housewives is also extremely strong this season after it fell apart last year. Everything from bringing Jessie Metcalf back to the great even if someone predictable plot with the new neighbors. Drea De Matteo is proving there is life left in this show. Plus Parks and Recreation might just be one of my new favorite shows. It had a rough few episodes last spring but ever since the finale and the onslaught of great episodes so far this season I might just reconsider not buying the DVD that came out…I just might get it.

-The shows on my bubble right now are Community, The Good Wife, The Cleveland Show, and Private Practice. Community just isn’t as strong as the other three shows so far. I like Joel McHale and I am by no means disappointed with the show but if I had to choose between Community and Modern Family for best new comedy it would have to be Modern Family. That right now is my favorite new show of the season. It is just extremely creative and funny. Community has its work cut out for it but I think I’ll continue to watch it. I don’t dislike it. Same goes with the other three. These aren’t shows I dislike but these aren’t the shows I am going to tell people to watch (last year I told people to watch Fringe and this year I told people to watch Modern Family).

TV Schedule Fall 2009

Posted by andytw710 on September 14, 2009

It is that time again, time for the new season of television to start. Before getting into my new crazy schedule (and yes I consider it crazy) I just want to say it amazes me about how much I know about television now. All of this simply starting from watching the finale of Survivor back in 2000. This year has been a great summer learning about how the business works and about what I am liking and what I am not liking. There is a lot to complain about on tv….however there is also a lot to love. Yes network television is pretty conservative if you look at cable, premium channels, and the UK but I think it continues to push boundaries and the budgets and special effects are nowhere else to be found. I also have found that my taste in tv has changed and has evolved. I think a few years ago a cheap reality show would have really entertained me but now I have a bit more of a high brow. If a good reality show comes along I can watch it but this summer has taught me that it is hard to find the next American Idol or Survivor. Now I am looking at everything and seeing what could be my next favorite thing. Sometimes it could surprise me (Fringe) and other times it could disappoint me (Heroes season 2 onward). I am a huge tv addict and right now I don’t see that going anywhere for the time being.

Ok so let me say I have been pleasantly surprised with the amount of possibly good tv this fall. There was a lot of great stuff at the upfronts and I see a lot of things I am liking however that means I am going to be more critical. The shows I will be keeping around are the ones I don’t want to miss. A show could be good but it might not be good enough where I want to watch it again. Case in point is Shark Tank. I enjoyed the first episode but going into the second one I realized that if I didn’t watch Shark Tank my life would still be the same. Meaning I wouldn’t miss it. I’m looking for great tv now. If something is good but I don’t care for it, it will have to go. Now don’t get me wrong I am not trying to be a tv snob but I watch way to much to watch everything that I can sit through. So lets get started.

What You Need To Know

  • I am watching 19 shows this fall, which is actually down 1 from last spring. I had added American Idol, Better Off Ted, 13: Fear is Real, and Parks and Recreation after my schedule post while dropping Dollhouse and Heroes. I also had forgotten to add in Celebrity Big Brother UK.
  • 7 of them are new shows (Community, The Cleveland Show, FlashForward,The Good Wife, Modern Family, The Middle, Glee, V)
  • I official dropped 3 shows (Heroes, Dollhouse, Castle, Invasion). I am done with Heroes, I checked the finale and disliked it. I just could not get into Dollhouse or Castle while Invasion was just reruns on Syfy.
  • 2 shows were canceled from this spring or are not coming back (13: Fear is Real, Harper’s Island) though I am sure I wouldn’t watch another season of 13.
  • 1 show is back.  SNL: Weekend Update Thursday has returned with six new episodes.
  • 6 shows will be back in the spring (American Idol, Celebrity Apprentice, 24, Lost, Celebrity Big Brother UK, and Breaking Bad)
  • 2 shows could be potentially dropped sooner rather then later (Glee, The Middle)
  • I will be reviewing the premier episodes and the season finales. Survivor and Fringe will most likely get complete reviews on every episode.
  • I am hoping to get caught up on Doctor Who in time for the last specials of the year
  • How I Met Your Mother was a potential show to add and while I like it I couldn’t justify watching.
  • Shows will fall under three categories. They will have a time next to their name meaning I will watch that show on that night (all times central). If it has tivo next to their names that means I will be watching it at a later time but it isn’t appointment tv to me. I’ve added a third category this time because how busy Thursdays will be and that is online. Meaning that two shows are taking priority over this third show and I’ll watch that at a later time.
  • As always there might be one or two altercations to this schedule but this is pretty much set on what I am watching.

Sunday
7 – The Amazing Race 15
8 – Desperate Housewives
Tivo 8 – Family Guy / The Cleveland Show

Monday
None

Tuesday
7 – V
9 – The Good Wife

Wednesday
7:30 – The Middle
8 – Modern Family
Tivo 8 – Glee

Thursday
7 – Survivor 19: Samoa
8 – Fringe
9 – Private Practice
Tivo 7 – FlashForward
Tivo 8 – The Office / 30 Rock
Online – Grey’s Anatomy / Parks and Recreation / SNL: Weekend Update Thursdays / Community

Friday
None

So not to bad until you get to Thursdays which really are crazy. Sundays are basically the same as always. I am not entirely sold on The Cleveland Show. I don’t watch American Dad at all and I think that only Family Guy is well done so it will be interesting to see if The Cleveland Show is good. Right now it is on the bubble. Mondays are going to be really weird and I’m not sure the best way to start the week. I am not watching anything on Mondays for the first time since Fall 2005 (not counting the summer). Should make for a good catch up day. Tuesdays could be really solid. V and The Good Wife both look great to me. I loved what I’ve seen and hopefully both of the shows are solid and fun. I am going to miss my Fringe Tuesdays but V could very easily take the place of it.  Wednesdays are relatively low key for now. The Middle and Glee are both bubble shows for me. I am just not that impressed with Glee yet. It has potential but the second episode didn’t do much for me (more on that in a future post). The Middle is a take it or leave it show. Modern Family could potentially be great. It has been getting a lot of buzz and it definitely piqued my interest. I’ll get to Thursdays in one second but just want to add that Friday’s have gone back to normal with nothing to watch.

So now onto Thursdays and Thursdays really needs its own paragraph. Night starts off with relatively easy choices. I of course kept Survivor on the tivo as well as newcomer and potentially great show FlashForward. That of course bumped SNL: Weekend Update Thursday and Parks and Recreation to the internet. That could easily cange if FlashForward sucks and Parks and Recreation improves. Community will take the place of SNL: Weekend Update Thursday once 30 Rock comes back so right now it is on my tivo but again could get the potentially take FlashForwards spot if it is as funny as people are saying it is. I was of course nervous and a bit surprised Fringe got moved to Thursdays and with Fringe moving there it really changed my priorities and caused me to bump Grey’s Anatomy off of my tivo and to the internet. I’d rather watch that at my computer then The Office or 30 Rock which are very tivo friendly. Grey’s Anatomy is missing more then hitting lately so it just isn’t strong enough to stay. Private Practice has no competition at its 9 o’clock slot and it remains on the tivo.

Could be a great year if all of these shows I picked get good audiences and deliver or I could be seeing an onslaught of holes if those 8 new shows bomb.

Random Thoughts: Summer Edition

Posted by andytw710 on August 2, 2009

-Ok so what has been going on this summer. Yes my posts have been a bit scattered and behind (wait they are usually behind) but it is because I think I probably bit more off then I could chew. This summer I was originally going to have a summer long special of some kind (I threw around ideas for Best Of, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy etc.) but then I finally wanted to do what I did last summer and just watch a bunch of things. Big mistake. I am terribly behind watching  things that I was supposed to finish in May (and that I started in March). I have just got around to adding the June stuff even though it is August. So hopefully I can somehow get back on track with these last three weeks before school but it is looking very doubtful. I didn’t announce it this time because I was so far behind to begin with…

-I am doing some clean up. During the transition from blogger to here some posts got messed up. So starting with the first posts I am cleaning them up month by month. Not all of them but the ones where the paragraphs got messed up and mushed together. So some will have the new formatting and some won’t depending on how they look. It is a nice trip down memory lane.

-Summer shows I’m obsessing over? The only one really is Better Off Ted because I am still behind a season in Weeds and well I don’t have showtime. Big Brother 11 is a bust and I’m not to fond of it and Big Brother UK 10 is ok but nothing that special (but an improvement on the last two years). I am ready for fall television. I think I would’ve been obsessing over Nurse Jackie, Weeds, and Torchwood: Children of Earth.  Though I do like the Malcolm in the Middle reruns on Nick at Nite.

SPOILER ALERT FOR UPCOMING SHOWS!!!!

-In crazy television news this summer? Grey’s Anatomy: I’d rather George have stayed and Izzie left but it seems that Katherine Heigl always gets her way. I guess I should say that I don’t mind Izzie but I wish Katherine Heigl would keep her mouth closed. Survivor: Even though All Star seasons usually leave us with a disappointing winner (Amber, Mike Boogie, Eric and Danielle)  and even though we just kind of had one (Micronesia anyone?) I am terribly excited about the rumors for Survivor 20th season Heroes vs. Villains (or All Stars 3 if they drop that). The casting agency contacted Richard Hatch to return but a judge said no. Coby Archa (Survivor Palau) has been spoiling things online. His rumored cast list include: Tom Westman, Johnny Fairplay, Tom Buchanan, Shane Powers, Rupert Boneham, Randy Baily, Ozzy Lusth, Coach Wade, James Hibberd, Ace Gordon, Cirie Fields, Jean Robert Bellande, Parvati Shallow, Sierra Reed, Tina Wesson, Twila Tanner, Amanda Kimmel, Jerri Manthey, Jenna Morasca, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Stephenie LaGrossa, Natalie Bolton, and Sugar Kiper. But supposedly JT Thomas, Stephen Fishbach, and Eliza Orlins are also in the running as well. So take for what it is worth. Not that the cast list isn’t fantastic but Amanda Kimmel for a third time? I loved her in China but she screwed up twice in the finals…twice. Desperate Housewives: People has reported that Andrew Van De Kamp is gone and John Rowland is back…meh? Great start to the last season but then it died hopefully Marc Cherry won’t screw this up.

Random Thoughts: New and Returning Shows Edition

Posted by andytw710 on April 4, 2009

-Fringe is back this week after almost two months being off the air. This might as well have been the summer hiatus. I guess having ten episodes before the winter break kind of made the schedule this way but I hated that we got four episodes and then we had a break and now we get six episodes and then will get the summer break. Plus we lost two episodes….please can we start treating this show a little better? Fox?

-Invasion is back on Sci Fi (Scyfy?) this week with a marathon this Wednesday of the next eight episodes. I don’t know if there are going to be any episodes after this Wednesday but I will have all of them tivoed. Again not a show at this point I really want to buy on dvd… but a show that deserves its full rebroadcast if a channel is going to send out a press release saying they have it.

-Thursday will become a really busy day once again with Parks and Recreation starting this week as well as Harper’s Island. I am really hoping that both of them hit it off. Amy Poehler totally deserves to have her own tv show, with such an excellent cast. I also think Harper’s Island looks really interesting. Reminds me of Twin Peaks mixed with Identity or whatever movie where they kill off people one by one.

-It was announced that not only will the second season Pushing Daisies be on DVD in July but ABC will start playing the final three episodes at the end of May. Very excited. I cannot wait to see these last three and then get the show on dvd. It is really to bad what happened with this show, I am very disappointed…also probably Dirty Sexy Money will air in that slot after Pushing Daisies ends.

Random Thoughts: Another One Bites the Dust Edition

Posted by andytw710 on March 12, 2009

-Couldn’t really get into Castle, it looked interesting and Nathan Fillion is talented but it just didn’t click with me. It had a similar feel to Bones, which is another show which I thought I would like but never really clicked for me either. Now of course I didn’t see the pilot just a random episode. Castle just seemed run of the mill with similar story lines and characters. Good luck to kings…

-Though VFTW is supporting her and yes she isn’t the best singer in the competition (but who is really that great this year?)…I have become quite smitten with Megan Joy from American Idol. I hope I am not being blind or ignorant though but she is cute, quirky, weird, and dorky. Her performances are so simple yet I think so mesmerizing to watch. I think she could be gone next week but I’ll always love her “Caw Caw” and her four songs we got from her.

-South Park came back tonight making fun of the Jonas Brothers and purity rings. A lot of truth in that. Sex sells and Disney is in the Entertainment Business.

-Fringe is not only not back for another four weeks but now down two episodes do to stupid crap like The Obsournes:Reloaded and what looks like a terrible show called Glee. Seriously? We need a variety show (since Rosie’s did so well) and a crappy preview to a new 2009-2010 show? Um no we need Fringe back now.

-And sadly my current favorites from The Amazing Race got out this week. Amanda and Kris were the usual young and slightly boring couple they have had on the show for years. And usually I don’t like them. However Amanda was so cute and Kris was not incompetent and thick that they actually made for an enjoyable alpha team. But it seems they were threatening to a deaf boy and his mom.

Random Thoughts: Is Now Official Edition

Posted by andytw710 on March 8, 2009

Poor random thoughts never got its own label, but since it has become such a standard little edition to this blog it now does. I’ll try to do these more often but they will most likely still be sporadic.

-With me dropping Heroes, Fringe not coming back until April, not picking up Dollhouse, and Invasion probably not coming back I’ve found a few new shows to pick up on. First of all Breaking Bad comes back tonight, and yes I did have that on the schedule. Plus I plan to watch Harper’s Island when it premiers April 9th. So besides those shows I plan to pick up Castle this Monday. I get a very Lois and Clark like vibe to it and I did like Nathan Fillion in Desperate Housewives last year. Even though the plot isn’t the most original I still think it looks interesting. I also wasn’t sure but I do plan on also watching the premier of Kings next week. It looks intriguing as well. Both shows are the kind of shows where the network is hoping they have a new hit on their hands before they get the chop after 3 episodes, May, or most sometime in the fall and the rest of their episodes will never be seen again.

-Sunday just became the new nightmare night of television. I thought Thursday was bad with Survivor, The Office, 30 Rock, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and then Harper’s Island in April. Which I think will all work out on my tivo with no problems. However that isn’t going to work on Sundays. Tonight there is The Amazing Race, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, 2 hours of the Apprentice, and Breaking Bad. Family Guy gets bumped off because I’d rather watch that online for 20 minutes then watch 2 hours of the Apprentice on my computer. Plus if I want to watch Kings after next week…

-Oh Tatiana, she was only there so that we could get some more crazy on the wildcard show. I think I am rooting for Lil Rounds to win. I think she has the best voice out of all 13, which was not that very surprising of a twist. I hate that I am watching this show (American Idol) again but secretly it is a guilty pleasure. Plus I likel how over the top Ryan says “AND THIS……….is…..American IDOL.”

-Not shedding a tear that I no longer watch Heroes or John and Kate Plus 8. It just gives me a lot more free time and it doesn’t feel like a chore. I also dropped Meerkat Manor, which I did like a lot…but when shows become a chore, you need to cut them out. Unfortunately though I’m getting an itching feeling to watch the rest of Power Rangers Zeo after dropping it back in August…I am that sad.

Random Thoughts: Cancelation/Quit Edition

Posted by andytw710 on February 24, 2009

-Um so I was really getting into the three episodes of Invasion and then Sci Fi decides to pull it from the air. Um really? Why make a press release and put it on for three episodes just to take it off the air? You are Sci Fi on Friday Nights. Are you really worried that Invasion isn’t getting good ratings? It didn’t when it was on and it was going to now. I am disappointed. Not sure if I want to pick it up on DVD because I did only see three episodes but it really just bothered me. So rumor has it that Sci Fi will be doing some sort of 8 episode marathon on April 8th but I am not getting my hopes up.

-Dollhouse, though it isn’t cancelled I definitely could see it being canceled. That is what happens when you put a series on Fridays and basically say you don’t want to watch it. I don’t know why Friday and Saturday aren’t just repeats, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me to send a show to Friday in order for it to be killed. I’ll have to do some research on Friday night ratings though before I say that. Certainly some shows must have prospered and I actually think X-Files was originally on Fridays. Anyway I watched the first 20 minutes of the first episode and I just couldn’t get into it. I understand the second episode is better but nothing was capturing my attention. It was sitting paused on my laptop for a week with me not getting anywhere and with no urge to go any farther. I guess I’m not a Whedonite.

-It might be time for me the pack the bag on Heroes. The first two episodes were dreadful and now the series is hitting all time lows with around 6 million people. Wow what a burnout of a show. Two episodes are sitting on my tivo and I am not even really in the mood to watch them any time soon. If ratings don’t pick up I wouldn’t be surprised if NBC nicked it, but NBC doesn’t have that much going for them right now…they could keep it. Unfortunately though I might just wait for it to come on DVD (where I enjoy Heroes better anyway). I am this close to taking it off season pass, which sucks because season 1 was a brilliant show. (Oh I even remember being excited that summer before the first season when I saw clips of it in movie theaters) Oh how times have changed.

-This has nothing to do with being cancelled or me dropping a show but I feel pretty secure that we will be seeing a second season of the amazing Fringe. Reports are they are moving to Vancouver for next season to film. Why would they even be discussing this if the show was going to get picked up for a second season. Which is great because Fringe is possibly my favorite show right now. Oh and Fox if you knew that the State of the Union address was coming on tonight we couldn’t have gotten an episode of Fringe to go along with it then an episode of Bones…? By the way they might as well call Fringe the X-Files now since X-Files filmed in Vancouver for their first five seasons.

Random Thoughts: What is Going On Edition

Posted by andytw710 on February 18, 2009

-Yea sorry why the fuck do we need to have 2 hour episodes of American Idol for the next month and a half. Give me my Fringe. It is just getting really good finding out Walter wrote the manuscript. I can’t even believe they are doing this. Yes I understand they need a lot of time for the singing but 2 hours every Tuesday? I am casually watching American Idol and I’d rather a an hour of Olivia then an hour of Tatiana crying hysterically (however Tatiana being crazy has its advantages). Of course I’d rather Fringe though. Fringe is a must buy on DVD now because it is one of the best shows on tv.

-What happened to Invasion? It is still on the Sci Fi website but it isn’t on any of their schedules. It literally isn’t appearing It was on two weeks ago and then it was on last Friday, isn’t on this Friday, and isn’t on the next Friday. I liked the first four episodes and I want to see the rest of the series. It isn’t a brilliant enough for me to grab it on dvd but I like it enough to watch the whole series for free.

-I am really hoping that Tatiana is getting through the top 12 on American Idol. I don’t really pay attention to the show in general but Tatiana is gold this season. She is a decent singer but she is literally psycho. I am hoping for a backstage meltdown or something because she is trainwreck tv at its best. I hate her so much I just want to see people call her psycho again and again. She would be horrible to work with.

-Shonda Rhymes please stop lying. If the actors on Grey’s Anatomy want to leave then let them leave. If I see one more topic about Katherine Heigl and T.R. want to leave I might go crazy… let them go and don’t pretend that they are sticking around. Please just let them go. On another note I am very sad that Nicollete Sheridan will be leaving Desperate Housewives because she is one of the draw factors for me. On a show that can be hit or miss from episode to episode she has consistently been good every episode.

-I’ve stopped watching Rock of Love Bus and just fast forward to the end to see if my favorite sister of a Survivor contestant makes it through. She has made it but I don’t know who is left. I think she made it to the top 9 and then three more contestants were brought in or something and two left so she is either in the top 10 or 11 or I don’t know. I’m rooting for Mindy even though was a freak for being on this show.

Random Thoughts: I Heart Edition

Posted by andytw710 on February 8, 2009

-I heart Grey’s Anatomy. I absolutely love it. The episode this week was clean and good and he was gone. Weird how they got rid of him right before the cross over was beginning, guess Shonda didn’t want to screw with the amazing Private Practice season. Which I have to say that I am also hearting. The whole show has really found its groove and everything is gelling together. The scripts are good and the character work is great. Though they have dropped some plotlines throughout the show (didn’t Addison like Pete and didn’t she want a baby?). Either way the show is great I think I might have to pick up the first season on DVD since the second season is so good. It has had rough ride so far but with Grey’s Anatomy as its lead in program it is surging with new viewers. Really is a tremendous show.

-I am really hearting Fringe. I really do. I am beginning to kind of forget the problems the show has and starting to really embrace it. I was psyched when it came back and have loved all three of the episodes so far this year. Everyone in the cast is starting to shine minus the extremely boring Charlie and the underused Broyles and Astrid. Please let them come out more. We are seeing more of Astrid. Plus I like the ongoing stories and the fact that we are starting to see some plot points coming together. Fringe should definitely be kept around next year and I am glad that it is getting a chance to shine.

-I heart Leah on 13: Fear is Real. I know the show sucks, it really is possibly the worst show and I don’t know how I can watch now that Leah has been eliminated. She was just awful at the beginning of the show but she kind of became the only person to root for. The show sucks even more, if possible, now that she is gone.

-I heart The Office for having three great episodes in a row. This show has been on rocky ground recently and I have to say that the three episodes in one week were very well done and had me laughing.

-I heart Jason Ritter of Joan of Arcadia. Though this isn’t about Joan of Arcadia I was able to meet Jason Ritter this weekend as he came into town for a film festival and showed off the independent film he was in titled Good Dick. I would definitely go check it out at its website and buy it when it comes out.

-I heart that Survivor starts this week. Though the cast looks very mactorish I cannot wait for the best show, in my opinion, on television starts this week.
