Torchwood Season 1

Torchwood - The Complete First Season

Like Doctor Who, I picked this up during the writers strike. Also like Doctor who it took a little bit for it to finally pay off. Also after finishing up the first season of Doctor Who I was a little confused on how Jack got to Torchwood. Since he would have last been seen in the Game Station at the end of Season 1 of Doctor Who and that he isn’t in the second season of Doctor Who, somehow he got to Torchwood. Obviously they’ll explain something since he left in the Tardis at the end of the season.

I didn’t feel very sad for Owen at the end of the series, I just didn’t like him as much as Gwen, Tosh, Jack, or Ianto.

My favorite episodes were Random Shoes and Out of Time. Both of them were very well done. That also being said the Abbadon Monster in End of Time was slightly comical. I was so busy laughing at its ridiculousness that the whole Jack dying thing felt kind of trivial.

I did like it enough to eventually want to get the DVD, and the whole everybody is sleeping with everybody aspect is also interesting. I wish their was more Tosh and Ianto since a lot of the time it felt like the Gwen, Owen, Jack show.

Overall great show and I recommend it if you want a mix of X-Files and Grey’s Anatomy.
