There has been some very interesting updates in the last 24 hours but I’ll just be talking about week three. Poor Sunshine. I really hated her for most of the first week but then started to like her after she calmed down a bit. She was practically non-existent for the second week which made me like her. Hell I even liked Sunshine during crisp-gate. Her reasoning made a lot more sense then what everyone else was complaining about. You guys just had pizza and no more food so why would you eat all of the veggie chips that same night? Good for Sunshine for holding out and giving them food in the middle of the day the next day…but then the whole don’t show my underwear or whatever with John James and crying in the room made me ok that she went. She was very focused on herself in that situation and made it kind of out of control when it didn’t have to be. It reminds me of Charlie and Rodrigo flirt fighting last year. They do the teasing but then it escalated and got out of control. Sunshine was a bit of an oddball overall. It seems she is this way because of her mother dying. She wanted to be a doctor but also wanted to live life to the fullest and out came this weird over-emotional fireball with glitter on it. It was like she loved being spontaneous and fun but also wanted to be respected and serious. It was just a weird combination. She had one or two great diary moments and brought in a good amount of moments though. At the end of this she was in my top five just because I thought she was entertaining but now with her gone perhaps the dynamics in the house will begin to change. Also I have to say that Sunshine gave a great interview with Davina. The first two I found myself clicking and searching the web but I watched the whole thing. Sunshine is a very dynamic person and you just want to know more about her.
I really want to like Shabby but I just find her so awful. Everything she does just drives me crazy. I also think she really overreacted to situations. The whole hat thing I kind of get. But it wasn’t like the producers were going to burn the hat. It wasn’t like Shabby was never going to see it again. Yea maybe she wouldn’t have been able to wear it for her eviction but they weren’t going to destroy it. Her reaction in the snug was just one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. One of the worst tantrums. At least with Nikki, most of the time it was entertaining. With Shabby you just want to go somewhere else and never see her again. She is a huge member of the house and at times entertaining but I was really done with her or Caoimhe. I really wanted to see one of them go in order to see the reaction of the other person with them not in the house. Caoimhe is getting just as bad. Granted she isn’t as terrible as Shabby and has some redeeming qualities but a few of her comments this week make me dislike her as well. The worst part was her treatment of Dave. Dave isn’t the best person in the house. I also don’t like how he loves everyone and getting drunk off of reading the Bible but I found her response ridiculous. Dave did have to put somebody up. Caoimhe was probably the best option for him as well. But the whole argument saying “Of course you had to put the two of us up together” is complete bullshit. Last week when Shabby won the save and replace task she put Mario up against Ben. That is the same exact situation that Dave put them in. Sorry. At least Caoimhe isn’t as boring as Nathan and Steve have been for three weeks in a row. Nathan showed up to say something negative about Sunshine but then he went back to the kitchen.
Where are all the tasks? I think we had the soccer task, the puppets, and then 1 day for the food task. Am I going crazy but I think in the earlier seasons they did tasks for more than one day…even more than two days. Why cut down on that? It gives the housemates something to do and we don’t have to watch the same old fights and problems between the housemates again and again. This week at least their were a lot of entertaining tasks. Anytime a Big Brother house is involved with another Big Brother house I like it. It is just is interesting. I loved it when the BB8 house called the Australian BB7 house. What a great moment. The housemates competing against the German housemates was also fun to see. The puppets were brilliant and I loved how they made them all look like the housemates. I also liked the camera men zooming in on the puppets like they were actually talking. It made for a fun daily show. The joke task was pretty lame though. The only good thing was Ben’s stand up.
Ben is an interesting character. I hope he stays in week to week. I feel like he could go up again fairly soon and we could lose him. But I hope he doesn’t and he sticks around. He is probably the most complex character in their. I loved how he didn’t do the Tree of Temptations task and I love that he is about to get a lot of crappy things done to him. I just find him to be a very interesting and unique character in the house. He has really become one of the focal points of the show…but so has Shabby which isn’t saying much. The best Ben moment for me was Ben not remembering what Mario was talking about and it took him a couple of tries to figure it out. I also loved it when Ben said that Mario adds nothing interesting to the conversations when he was talking to Dave. Mario and Josie I don’t really know how to deal with. I think both of them could be better characters. Mario is boring to me but he is still likable. We’ve also seen a lot more of him than someone like Ife. So while Ife is growing on me I still have to put Mario above her because he is a more developed character. The same thing with Josie. I had her lower last week but she has come back up into my top four. I don’t really know why but she is just more interesting than half the house. There is something I like about her but at the same time I am kind of ready for her to do something. I like her on again and off again friendship with John James though. He continues to be interesting and I find his outbursts much more fun to watch than anything that Shabby is doing. He continues to be interesting to me. Corin is also extremely fascinating to me but she is just entertaining. The best Corin moment this week was her in the diary room saying nonsense while Sunshine was crying over John James outside. Sure Corin was funny with her puppet but coming out of the diary room and asking what was going on while Sunshine was upset was a brilliant moment. I still want Corin to win this whole thing. With this season being only 11 weeks though, it is about time for things to really start changing. The dynamics are going to start being a lot different. Time to throw in a few new housemates and hopefully the originals will also start going out of their comfort zones. This is the time when friendships really start to change.
