Survivor Heroes vs. Villains Ep. 6 “Bananas and Idols”

http://l.yimg.com/l/tv/us/img/site/35/79/0000063579_20100107133140.jpgYay! James is finally gone. Geez what a piss poor attitude and everything. I am glad Amanda finally got some sense into her and that they all thought it was finally time for him to go. I don’t care about alliances when you are down to just five people. You need five people who can pretty much do anything in all of the challenges and having one person who cannot perform as well will only hurt you. It was the best move they could have done. Colby isn’t obsolete quite yet. Yes he isn’t as good as he was in Australia or All Stars but he isn’t Scout or Jan. He can still compete and I am sure he is stronger than some of the women on the Villains tribe. James even left with a poor attitude. It just shows that he isn’t all he is cracked up to be. It also shows that James isn’t that nice of a guy. Maybe they just showed a lot of his poor moments but gosh. He has made so many stupid mistakes before why listen to him?

Geez this criticism on Candice is a bit much. Sure she is paranoid and overplaying. I will give you that. I could also see how Candice could even come across as a little obnoxious and annoying. But the fact that Amanda and others were made at her for targeting James was a bit ridiculous. Amanda, yes she was gunning for James because she wanted his bum knee gone. He is dead weight. He needed to go. You guys are only screwing yourselves with him there. Plus at the end of the day Candice didn’t even switch. She still voted Tom out so what is the deal? Good for Colby for not accepting the hug from James. It just seemed a little condescending. Colby doesn’t want a hug. Nobody died he just lost an ally.

I’m glad that people aren’t afraid of Russell this season and I am glad the producers are showing more of these negative comments. But I still think the villains underestimate him a bit. Rob you need to be careful. I know you are smart but Russell knows how to force people to do things. Plus he does have the idol and he spent thirty nine days last season coming up with plans on how to use it. Rob you haven’t and though I like you a lot you need to be wary that he has it. You have to play Survivor 20 and not Survivor 8 Rob. It is a different game.

I like that they are giving people a chance to win individual immunity now on both tribes. Yes they kind of played with it a little before but it sucks for others. Jeff tells you to go to tribal council against your will and you haven’t even got a chance to win immunity. It has happened to plenty of people before so I like that they all now have a chance to win. I hope it is something that they continue to do because it is only fair to give people a chance to be safe. I mean look Candice won, good on her for saving herself. It would’ve been a much different episode if she didn’t have it.  Plus it gave us the hilarious moment of Rob trying to get her to give him a high five while she hugged Probst. A priceless moment.

I love a tribe that knows how to play the game and knows how to strategize. This episode reminded me of the first time the Mogo Mogo tribe went to tribal council. They all were plotting and scheming and coming up with some very smart moves. It pays off seeing some smart game play and some interesting options. Rob wants Parvati gone but wants to flush the idol out. So he is going to make Russell think they are going for him but they are actually going for Parvati. So Russell kind of gets wind of that and he wants to give Parvati the idol so that Tyson goes instead of her. But that is just the beginning of it…

http://l.yimg.com/l/tv/us/img/site/35/70/0000063570_20100107133121.jpgEven though James sucks he makes a good point about Colby. He is a shadow of his former self. He really has dropped the ball and doesn’t seem like he is having a ton of fun. I hope he can turn it around. It does suck seeing Colby sit there and do nothing. He looks like he gave up and just doesn’t care. It sucks to see Colby like this. I was never that big of a fan but to see someone so connected to this show get so bent out of shape just sucks. But what sucks is that he is even an option for going with James around. Yea you need to think who is overall the best competitor. A bum knee vs. Colby now? Plus James is eating all of this food? I don’t really get his attitude. You can’t suck in the challenges and eat all of the food. You serve no purpose. Plus you lost in what you were trying to prove. You couldn’t beat JT. I wish they had made him run against Colby though.

Back at the Villains camp, Rob has come up with one of those split the votes strategies. They vote three for Russell and three for Parvati. If one of them plays the idol the other will go into a tie vote with Tyson.  Then in the re-vote  and they can all vote the person who didn’t play the idol. A very simple strategy but a smart move to get rid of someone and flush out the idol at the same time.  Now the show makes it seem like Tyson was really manipulated by Russell. But from Tyson’s post show interviews it seems that isn’t he case. Tyson says he switched his vote because he decided to switch his vote. Not because Russell said he was voting for Parvati. Tyson said that Danielle and Parvati knew about the split vote as did Russell. He was hoping that Danielle and Parvati were going to vote for Russell. But Tyson knew he had the idol so he wanted to throw his voted at Parvati and get her out so that she wouldn’t be able to jump ship when the merge came. Not sure how much I believe that but it still works with the context of the events we got. Tyson thought that this was his chance to take out Parvati and it wasn’t.  You need to stick with the plan and the tribe split instead of throwing all your votes that way. He just got money hungry and saw an opportunity for himself and made a mistake thinking he could take Parvati out. At this point of the game you still need to lay low and let things play out. If not Parvati this week then next week. Don’t take a risk like this.

By the way I hate the gimmicky cut before Russell played the idol. Hate gimmicky cuts. This isn’t VH1.

Interesting move that Russell put himself in danger for the sake of Parvati. Big risk but it paid off for Tyson’s stupidity. I liked Tyson in Tocantins but what a dumb move on his part.

The Heroes tribal council was not that exciting. It was of course great seeing them eat all the food in front of them but not a lot happened. James complained about Colby. Colby tried to defend himself. Amanda was annoying and Candice was close to mute as she could possibly be. James was finally taken out and I was happy. Plus I liked the little limp he had going down the stairs. Shows that he needed to go.

Colby just saved himself. His best bet at this point would be to start pointing fingers at Candice. Otherwise he is gone at the next Heroes tribal council.
