Big Brother UK is back, here are my thoughts while watching the premier and a first list of who my favorites are. It is going to be another long summer and I hope this series lives up to previous series…in fact I hope it is better then the last two series.
-No housemates? Oh yea they have to become housemates and right now they are just houseguests trying to gain a spot. That is ok for now I am hoping that is ends up being a good twist with no furniture and nothing to do these first few nights.
-I like the intro but I’m hoping the parts that looks like it messed up are really mess ups. However it is something I could get used to.
-I realize the credit crunch affected the budget this summer, it sucks that they went to that small little screen behind the audience as opposed to the bigger screens they have had in the past.
-The opening room, or the living room looks a lot better then it did in the photos. I like the red on the other side and it seems like they added a few more pieces of furniture.
-Wow that was possibly the worst house tour ever, it was really short and not very exciting. I am hoping that the window with the blinds shows the real bathroom, the real kitchen, and the real house. Even Davina didn’t seem to enthusiastic. Hell we didn’t even see the diary room chair. Who cares about the phone, it will be the way to talk to Big Brother and usually the phones in these houses don’t do anything. Barbershop chair? Hmm that is a bit more curious. There is another live show Sunday so hopefully Davina will do the real house tour…since I always love the house tours.
-Freddie: Freddie is an interesting fella. He could become really obnoxious if he thinks of himself as high class but lets not forget that these VTs are usually based on one quality and not what the person is always about. He seems like a good guy but he seems like someone who could be a huge bastard. Hopefully he is a clever bastard and not just a dick. Hopefully he doesn’t think he is above this show.
-I like the new entrance by the way, it is quick and they go up the stairs extremely fast no huge long entrance that take forever to get the people inside.
-And Freddie is already on my nerves by just entering the house and thinking he is more awesome then he actually is. However I do like his little “This is wonderful.” He does seems like he could be a fun person if he doesn’t have a huge ego.
-Lisa: Another Lisa? This is the third Lisa in four series. Plus an older lesbian…very interesting. Likes to turn straight woman? She seems like she could be a lot of fun. Perhaps a nicer Tracey. She seems to have a lot of attitude and a lot of spunk. I like her red hair. She does seem to be a bit of a man hater for no reason but it is almost like it makes her happy. I don’t know she could be very interesting.
-Aah Freddie is being awkward and over the top saying hello to Lisa
-Sophie: Our first wannabe? Well in the sense of I’m here to be famous and I want magazine and modeling deals. She doesn’t seem to have much going for her and isn’t as smart as she thinks she is. There are smart models but Sophie really doesn’t seem to be one of them. I will be curious to see how she does tonight without any comforts and having to rough it in one room. She has to turn her personality around if I am supposed to like her.
-Her walking in wasn’t crazy. I hope we don’t get a showmance between her and Freddie…but I don’t think Freddie is supposed to be the “hot in shape guy” though.
-Kris: Kris could be a good guy, and his VT might make him be a bit more of an ass then he really is. It is kind of creepy that he has mirrors all over his bedroom though and they made him look like a huge player…and that he treats them more as toys and doesn’t mind have multiple girlfriends.
-Noirin: Is she supposed to be the evil black girl we already hate? She does have a few “I Am An Awful Person” vibes from her vt and much like Sophie it kind of seems like she is there for fame. Nothing to special about her, she could be interesting if she tries to keep up her whole hypocritical ten commandments thing going but I could see that was just something she said to get into the house.
-Cairon: I like Cairon, he is a bit more flamboyant then he probably believes. It was funny how he was so taken aback or felt attacked when Big Brother called him gay. He might have some issues with that. He does seem pretty confident and knows what he is talking about. Quickly went into the house.
-Weird how after the quick few hellos it seemed like nobody really wanted to talk to Cairon by Freddie and Lisa.
-Davina makes a good point why are they not all freaked out by the crates and boxes? There is no furniture.
-Angel: What the fuck? She is so weird. That is something to say after seeing this show year after year. Definitely a new person that we haven’t had yet. I could see her getting broken down very early and quitting, but it would be neat if she could suck it up. She also cannot really have a gameplan she seems like this could break her or drive her crazy. Definitely she is a weird one. Kind of reminds me of Kitten a bit but not exactly like her.
-Davina did not seem like a big fan of Angel and of course Angel goes in there and does things completely the wrong way
-Karly: Karly doesn’t know it but she is a bitch. They made her awful on the VT. She seems a bit more likeable after she left the car and walked in but she comes across as I am better then you. Remind me a bit of Jennifer from last year. Karly of course is probably a huge idiot. She dropped out of school, which isn’t a terrible thing, but it seems she did because it was to hard for her and she wanted to party more. At least that is the kind of vibe I am getting. I could see her being the first person to go.
-Marcus: I do really like Marcus and I hope he doesn’t turn into an asshole or leaves. He could be a great character if he just sticks this out the whole way through. The crowd loved him and despite having a bit of a weird VT he seems like a good person. Plus he is different and different is always very important. Even though I tend to like the bimbos in this show I think I could really like Marcus if he just sticks this out. He is a dork but he kind of owns up to it and thinks he is cool.
-Well after he went into the house he seemed very confident and happy so maybe he could be in for the long haul. Angel is already getting annoying.
-I hope we don’t lose someone like Marcus though because of this first twist.
-Beinazir: I really like Beinazir, she is perhaps my favorite so far. She just looks awesome, she has an awesome attitude. Not afraid to fight. Hopefully she can calm that down a little bit and just be really chill. However the best housemates are those that can be chill but aren’t afraid of making fun of people but can do it in a charming way. It seems like Beinazir can do that. She seems pretty awesome, I like her more then Marcus.
-Why does Freddie hug everybody? I like him but he could quickly fall if he is so touchy feely.
-Sophia: They keep rolling out good housemates, she outdoes Beinazir. She is the kind of character I really like in these shows but she is different from past people. She said she doesn’t want to be a WAG. She oculd potential get to Shabnam levels of annoyingness but I hope not. So far she is great. I loved her VT. She looks great and she has so much peppiness, probably from being so small. She looks like she could be a lot of fun if she gets into the far final weeks. Right now my favorite.
-I really hope she isn’t a disappointment like Kathreya or get to the levels of annoyingness that Rebecca got.
-Rodrigo: Um interesting, kind of a younger Gerry. I don’t know why he is so popular though. He seems kind of young and obnoxious to me. Kind of like the kind of kid who is full of energy but comes across as a person who doesn’t know when to shut up or be quiet. “Almost too much” might be the right word. I don’t know if I could live with him if he is always that kind of energy. However it is the first day and the VT, I wonder if he had a hard life in Brazil and that is why he left. By far not the worst but not in the top for me.
-Charlie: I do like Charlie because he is a bit more relaxed and cool. Especially after Rodrigo. He did fly through his opening. I would’ve taken some of that in. He seemed a bit nervous. He seems like a good average guy who just wants to be happy. Probably looking for something more then his government job. I could see him falling in the background though these first few weeks.
-Saffia: Another person I could really like. I do once again like her attitude but she is a man hater which is always a bit hard to swallow. Plus she is leaving her 7-month old home? She just had her. Saffia looks like she could ruffle some feathers though if she doesn’t like someone. Hopefully that is a bit for show and that she is a bit more pleasant then her VT. Again the VTs are really just there to give you an instant impression no matter how different they might be.
-Sree: Sree seems like the boring person this year. The Mohamed of the group. He just doesn’t have much going for him and I don’t even know what really to write about. I hope he shows a bit more personality as the show progresses but even Mo never did that last year. Mo just became greedy Mo and kind of jut sucked up entertaining time from everyone else. So not to enthralled by this one.
-And now for our last person, who will be just a bit weird is….
-Siavash: Weird, what a weirdo. They usually try to leave the last person as someone special and I could see that in Siavash. He isn’t like anyone else I have ever seen. Such a weird personality and it makes you think how many people think they are good looking. He is greasy and has so much hair. He just looks like he needs to take a shower and get a hair cut. Literally. I’m not a big fan of him but he could be a big character if he lasts.
-Overall a very different group. I like them actually and I like them a lot better then last years launch show and the year before. You have to give credit to the producers for always trying to find different people and diverse people. You really do have a little bit of everyone here. The young peppy girl, the fashion designer weirdo, the good looking guy, the WAG wannabe, the model, the student, the butch lesbian, etc.

-Oh oh god. No wonder why Davina didn’t see the diary room chair. It is hideous. That is the ugliest thing I have seen. Looks like Rodrigo could be the first housemate. I wonder how many spots there are going to be. I like the room by not the chair.
-What a nasty but great little task to start off the show. I am already liking Rodrigo a bit more and if all the requirements are like this, then this is going to be great. Having someone draw on sunglasses and a mustache every day for the foreseeable future might be my favorite idea since Nobbi went into the van in last years Big Brother Australia season.
-And the diary room is growing on me already.
-Noirin would be one of the last people I thought would do this. She really wants to be there. And who is the idiot who said they were never going to grow back? The funniest thing will be Noirin having to put on a mustache and glasses every day.
-And I do like the bedroom or how little we saw of it.
Overall a great premier and I cannot wait to see how this season turns out.
